Your consultation

At your consultation Mr Oezdogan will:

  • discuss what you would like to change and why

  • examine you and explain which options are suitable, including non-surgical alternatives or not having surgery

  • explain the benefits, risks, recovery and the possibility of further surgery in the future

  • give you written information to take away

Removing a mole, cyst or lipoma for appearance is not usually funded by the NHS or private insurance, so these are often self-pay. A lesion removed because it is suspicious may be covered by your insurer.

Private consultations and surgery are offered to adults aged 18 and over. You will be given time to reflect before deciding, and a second consultation is offered before surgery is booked.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be awake?

Yes. Most procedures are done under local anaesthetic, so the area is numb but you are awake.

Will there be a scar?

Any cut in the skin leaves a scar. Mr Oezdogan places it along natural skin lines where possible, and it usually fades over 12 months.

Will I have stitches to remove?

Usually not. Dissolving stitches under the skin are used in most cases.

How do I arrange a consultation?

Send an enquiry through the Contact page.

Do you treat patients under 18?

Private consultations and surgery are offered to adults aged 18 and over.

Is it covered by insurance?

Cosmetic removal is usually self-pay. Suspicious lesions may be covered, so check with your insurer.
